Help the McLean Family in Their Time of Need

On the evening of May 27th, their world changed forever. Their beloved 2-year-old son, River, was involved in a tragic accident that resulted in the loss of his thumb—95% severed. They initially drove to the Williston Emergency Room, but the medical staff recognized that he needed specialized care. He was then life-flighted to the Minot Emergency Room. Despite the quick response, his condition required even more advanced treatment, so he was life-flighted a second time—this time from Minot to Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

Once at Mayo, River was taken directly into surgery. A team of over 30 medical specialists worked tirelessly for six hours to try to reattach his thumb and give him the best chance at recovery.

Currently, River is fighting hard as he continues his recovery. He is in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, receiving round-the-clock care. Over the coming days, he will need additional procedures, including the insertion of a PICC line and a feeding tube. River will then be undergoing a blood transfusion to support his healing. At this time, they expect to remain there for a minimum of two weeks.

This unexpected crisis has brought massive medical expenses and emotional strain on their family. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and family for support—any donation will help cover the mounting medical bills, ongoing treatments, and the costs associated with caring for River during this difficult time.
